With or Without You: A Novel
by Caroline Leavitt
Change is coming (6/14/2020)
I liked this book as it looks at the changes that we all face as we grow, and face trials and tribulations in our ever changing lives. I have reflected on my own life since I recently retired and in looking back I see that I have changed and what was once important no longer has a first place priority. This book has some unexpected twists, turns and outcomes for Stella that end up being just what she needed. It is will worth your time to reading it.
The Things They Carried
by Tim O'Brien
The Things They Carried (4/12/2020)
Since I grew up during the Vietnam War era, and my brother and several of my classmates and friends were fighting in this war, this book grabbed my attention plus it was recommended by my niece. But seriously, It took some time for me to get my head into this book. I think that it can be more relate-able to someone who was in Vietnam or other service men and women who have fought in wars. I just didn't like the subject matter but I kept reading to the end and I was happy to read the last and final page.
