I loved this book for many reasons. First, it's written in an engaging way, alternating by chapter the stories of two refugee families, and a broad view of immigration in the US from its beginning to the present. It's current, and gives us a clear picture of the experience
…more of these families. The author was straightforward and meticulous in her telling of their stories. I really appreciated the notes on each chapter detailing her research. This book should be on the 300s shelf of every public library. (less)
