I Am Still Alive
by Kate Alice Marshall
This book is captivating (10/9/2022)
I love wilderness survival fiction. I've read Hatchet and all the sequels repeatedly. While Gary Paulsen's protagonist Brian is a favorite- I love Marshall's protagonist Jess and the female perspective of survival in the wild. It's raw, real, and emotionally captivating. I could see myself having the same struggles both internally and outwardly with the elements. Superbly written. I was invested in the main character immediately. This book is added to my favorites to read over and over.
