The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea
by Sebastian Junger
Good book but should come with a warning label ! (7/5/2024)
My fiance and I listened to this book on audio books during a 7 hour drive. The book offered interesting and vivid character descriptions and insight into a unique weather pattern which created the storm. However, it gave a very unessary and horribly graphic description of the agony that a body experiences when drowning. How callus of the author to include this ! My son drowned in the gulf of Mexico. I am a NICU nurse. Do you think I would for one second I would describe to the family any suffering that their child may have endured? How does the author justify to the family's of all the men, women and children who have drowned including such a graphic and completely unnecessary description of agony? Do NOT read or listen to the book if you are empathetic to human suffering, and/or have a loved one who has drowned.
