They Are My Children, Too: A Mother's Struggle for Her Sons
by Catherine Meyer
I’m living Catherine’s life as a Father without my four children and as a grandfather not even knowing my seven grandchildren. (12/10/2024)
Today is December 10, 2024. The reread of her book—“They Are My Children,Too” is as heart wrenching for me as when I read it 20 years ago. Christmas time is always somewhat difficult, and as Catherine knows, pondering and obsessing about why at least one of the kids or maybe even our former spouse may have a reasonable small change of heart and make some contact by letter or phone or through a friend—that never happens , but why??? And the reality is the children involved know that to make some contact with an “Ex-mother or father” will be the fear that the alienating parent and the other sibling or siblings will disown or divorce them completely as their “Ex-parent” has been deleted from their lives. I also would love to have an email or address to communicate with Catherine.

Today I still send birthday cards and Christmas cards to my children-/and never get anything back.

Thank you,
