McNally's Dilemma
by Vincent Lardo
 (8/9/2001)
Colette Beaton
This is great. I was so saddened by the death of Lawrence Sanders as I have read his books for many years. It is so great that his estate has hired someone to continue the McNally legacy. What would we do without Archy. Thanks

Gee, did Larry write this book? Sure seems like it. So then, who is Vincent Lardo? What's going on here?

When I discovered the fraud being perpetrated by the publisher on an unsuspecting readership, I returned this book for a full refund.

I'm shocked that someone else can write under Lawrence Sander's name. It almost seems fraudulent that they put his name on top of the cover of the book. I read the book and could tell that it wasn't Sanders style. It just didn't come up to par in any way.more

This books is good, not as good as some of the other ones but a good read none the less. It wasn't written by Lawrence Sanders though, read the very small print on the back cover (as I remember) to reveal the true author of this specific McNally book. Guess themore
Low Country: A Novel
by Anne River Siddons
 (8/9/2001)

Just finished reading Low Country by Anne Rivers Siddons and must comment on how disappointing I found this book to be. I have read all of Miss Siddons books and found them to be most enjoyable but this latest book read like it had been written by Daniellemore
Local Girls
by Alice Hoffman
 (8/9/2001)
Linda B. Scanlan
Alice Hoffman is a gift! Her prose is dreamy and fluid; her characters real people with genuine issues. Ms. Hoffman writes about miracles and dreams. Her ability to capture the essence of a phrase is pure genius. I've read every book by this author and canmore

This is a very well written book about growing up and all the things people do to feel good about their lives. The story is told from several different points of view and is a must read, especially if you loved other books by Hoffman. That's all I'm gonna say, except, READ IT!
Life Strategies: Doing What Works, Doing What Matters
by Dr Phillip McGraw
 (8/9/2001)

I don't usually buy self-help books, but this one is different. Take the time to work through ALL the exercises, it's worth the investment. This one has real staying power!
Little Green Men
by Christopher Buckley

Wow. That's all I can say. Christopher Buckley's "Little Green Men" was honestly the best book I've read in quite some time. I'm a big fan of sci-fi books and picked it up thinking it belonged to that genre. When I started reading and learned that it wasn't, I wasmore
Lake News
by Barbara Delinsky
 (8/9/2001)

This is the first book I've read by Delinsky. I found it to be a well written story with beautiful descriptions and complex, interesting characters. The book explores different relationships common to all of us (man-woman, child-parent, siblings) with sensitivity.more
Komarr: A Miles Vorkosigan Adventure
by Lois McMaster Bujold
 (8/9/2001)

This book continues the character development of that most interesting of figures, Miles. I really liked the new love interest, Ekaterin. Give me a strong woman who acts, and keeps her self doubts to herself! Another thing I liked was Miles's thoughts ofmore
John Glenn: A Memoir

Hello to all my Astronaut fans. This is a good good book. Not great , as the ones done by Deke Slayton, Jim Lovell, and Mike Collins.
Glenn...was a good pilot. To me however he was not a great astronaut...despite the amount of effort he put into the training for Mercury.

I am from John Glenn's hometown, New Concord, OH. John's wife, Annie, is my father's first cousin. Since I know both John & Annie I naturally wanted to read his book. I found it extremely interesting and in-depth. It is a very inspiring book aboutmore

This is an incredible book about an incredible man! Senator Glenn gives personal details that make me admire and respect him even more than I already did. He gives wonderful "inside information" about the NASA programs he was involved in. Some people might be bores, more

I think Krakauers novel, Into the Wild was a good book.

Haunting book. Krakauer's embellishments, if any, are conservative to anyone who has considered an endeavor with the same true meaning of Chris McCandless's. McCandless may have made a few blunders in the view of a modern survivalist, but that was exactly hismore

I thought that Into the Wild was very well written. I do not feel that Jon made up a lot of the things he wrote, but used actual facts. Chris McCandless' family should be glad that somebody told the truth and didn't label Chris as some nutcase on a suicide mission.
