I agree with Mette who thinks that a person 'should be allowed to criticize their gouvernment'. Michael Moore as any person on this earth has a right to write and publish whatever he wants . This is what democracy is about.
The facts given in the book are sometimes not grounded with facts, right, but I think the main purpose of the book is rather create a general attitude to the country itself, then present all the info and info sourses. Well, if you start hating Americans after reading the book I can say that the goal of the book has been attained.
Personally, I disagree with some parts of the text especially where Michael exaggerates and overacts. Everybody withdraws as much sense from the book as he can or is able to.

Non patriotic??? It's too bad Mr. Moore was complaining about the fact that President Bush was not elected by the people??? Bo Hoo!!! To the two other reviewers: Although I don't agree with your political standpoints, I refuse to make that part of the case as for why I did or did not enjoy a book. It seems to me that the last two reviews were written on a basis of dislike for an author that is anti current government and not on the book itself. Hey, I'm disappointed enough in Bush that I'm thinking of getting out of dodge(ie. moving to another country so that my tax dollars aren't paying for so many things that I find shockingly wrong, wrong, wrong), but that has very little to due with that fact that I thought "Stupid White Men" was mildly entertaining at best. It seemed to be writen poorly and I just can't take someone's word for it when they are spewing out "facts" without backing them up. On the other hand, while Moore could have been hoodwinking us, I highly doubt his lies or lack of truth will ever bring our once great nation to war.
May peace prevail........

every village and nation needs an idiot and I think Moore has filled that roll very well by writing this book. He has some valid points but his answers to them are ridiculous. If you want to get on your high horse about stuff you need to make sure you have some good and sound answers to give or you look and sound like a looney.

I agree, the stupid white man here is obviously Moore himself!

This book is stupid the only stupid white man in this book is Micheal Moore.

there is one thing i agree with in this book...the fact that our educational system really needs improvements. Many of Moore's "ideas" are self'-contradicting. Cmon' he says how we should thank the teachers for devoting their lives to our childrens' education, but at the same time he spends most of the chapter complaining about teachers and teaching. Moore should check his own writing before critisizing someone else's. no wonder he is a college dropout, he can't even ckeck his own writing. if you read the book real good you will understand what i am talking about.

I wanted to rate this a ZERO but it isnt listed.
He is well suited to complaining but ill equipped for viable soultions, when it comes to his constand, although prosperous litany of whats wrong with America. Funny that I dont see him complaining on the way to the bank........
His tactics of journalism, if you choose to call them that, are less than professional, although many seem to enjoy his style.
I am not one of them.
The book does make for very good kitty litter pan liner though.

If you Like and agree with this book then you fit Micheal Moore's statement that "americans are Stupid". (This is what he tells the Europeans about Americans)
