This is a really good book especially for people who love things like elves and dragons in the books that they read I know that some people say that it's a rip off and that it's not original that it's like LOTR and HP but it really isn't

This book was fantastic. It was really a majestic novel. Through the whole book th characters were mysterios, and the sites and scenes were wonderfull. I reall didn't think it would be a good book untill I started reading it. Anyone who likes mysteries should read this book.

Eragon is a beautiful book. I couldn't put it down!!!!!! I am dying for Elders. All who have read it and liked it have good taste. Go Eragon!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It inspired me to start writing. I just luv it. I hope more people read it and like it. I cant wait until the movie comes to theators. May your swords stay sharp.

Although I am only 14 yrs. old, I am a budding author (hopefully) and write frequently. Reading Paolini's "Eragon" has truly inspired me. His use of description reminds me vaguely of Tolkien' s. However, Tolkien's description tends to drag a little! I do agree that Lyold Alexander is a fantastic author (one of my favorites), yet Paolini has impressed me beyond words. His description astounds me! He found just the niche between too much and too little, just the right amount of description that keeps a reader interested. His use of personification is also impressive. His description is what makes the book advanced reading Talwar Karan Donnatello!

For anyone who thinks this story is predictable, think again! I had no idea that Murtagh was Morzan's son (okay a little foreshadowing, but that's all Paolini). The battle scenes at Tronjeim (sp?) could have been destroyed in such a book, but he built them with a certain amount of apprehension.

Yes, it IS being made into a movie. I think they are considering using Natalie Portman as Arya and Hayden Christenson as Eragon (to which I can only say "YUCK!". In Star Wars they were great but not in a movie like this). I think Viggo Mortenson (Aragon in LOTR) would do a fabulous portrayal of Murtagh. Fox has the film rights and Paolini originally concieved the book as a movie. I also think Peter Jackson (LOTR) would blow this film out of the water and win another Oscar as director, but I think he's currently working on a King Kong remake.

To wrap my post up, I would like to tip my hat to young Mr. Paolini and congratulate him on a job well done. For those of you complaining about a young author, I would remind you that he is no longer 16, but 20 (I'd like to see you do better). Furthermore and finally, if he can write well, than the book sells, regardless of age. Actually, his age is what intrigued me. *His book has also been on the bestseller list for approx. 6 months. *

This is the best book ever!

Eragon was one of the best books I've ever read (and I've read a whole lotta books). Yes, the characters and races had certain similarities between others, but it's pretty hard not to be that way. The plot of this book was excellent, as were the characters and setting. If you look hard enough in the book, you can find small hints to the books to come. I think Christopher Paolini did an awesome job on the entire book.
