I think this book was great. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Yes it is a little like other books (Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter). But don't we love those books too. I'm looking forward to reading the next two. But by the looks of it it doesn't lok like they will be out soon. CP started writing Eragon when he was 15 and he's 19 now. I think we are in for a long wait. But i will wait and when they do come out i will read them. I'm sure they will be just as good as Eragon maybe even better.

I read the book and while reading it a second time I developed a theory about Eragon's mother. I also believe Murtagh is not being completely honest(for one I do not believe it could that easy to escape Galbatorix). I think that Eragon's mother is also Murtagh's mother. In the chapter Dragon Tales you find out that Eragon's mom had been away from Carvahall for six years living in cities and later came back to her brother Garrow's house and had Eragon. After Selena had Eragon she left and never came back. In the chapter Hunting for Answers Murtagh gives Eragon information regarding his own mother. Murtagh says that his father Morzan met his mom in a small village (I believe it to be Carvahall) and she left to live with Morzan. Three years later she had Murtagh. Three years later Morzan left to hunt for Saphira's egg and Murtagh's mother vanished. She came back months later and then died. I think that when she vanished she returned to Carvahall to have Eragon. She also must have named him Eragon because she knew of the name's history. Eragon's father on the otherhand could be Galbatorix, Morzan, or anyone else. If the father was Morzan then Eragon having his sword would seem to make more sense. Angela predicted that one of Eragon's relatives would betray him. I believe this person to be Murtagh not Roran because Roran does not know anything about Eragon's situation and i think it is suspicious that Murtagh will not let anyone read his thoughts. When Eragon asked Why the twins weren't where they were supposed to be Murtagh said they fought bravely with urgals in another location. I know I am not the only one who suspects the twins and I believe Murtagh has everything to gain from this situation. If Murtagh was really in Galbatorix's control then he could have brought Eragon to him at any point, but by following Eragon he learned the location of the varden. The king could have found the Varden anyway, but it would be harder to find the elves which they failed at in the beginning. In my opinion Murtagh wants to follow Eragon to Ellesmera. That would definitely betray Eragon and I am positive that Selena is both Eragon's and Murtagh's mother. If you look at those sections again it fits.

Hello everyone

I loved this book, no tricks. However, I just realized that it did mimic some other books. However, I bet there are no other books out there with that unique blend of books in it, and it's that unique blend of books that makes it special. It's a little bit of Anne Mcaffery, a little bit of JRR Tolkein, and a little but of many other books. However, I give him props as to combining all these to make something great. Oh yeah, and for all you people who are saying this book is horrid, Anne Mcaffery is the one who is complimenting him on the back cover.

Also, why do you think Murtagh and Eragon are going to be brothers? I mean, I didn't even think it was like that until I read it here. It must be just a tad too complex for me...
