[edited to remove plot spoiler]. I Believed though that this overall was a good novel, decent at best, didnt wow me.

Rushed ending
I agree with reviewer, Suzanne, regarding the ending. It was so abrupt, and it made me incredibly angry. [edited to remove plot spoiler].

Thought-provoking, but disappointing ending
I also read this book as a book club read; I found it well-written and thought-provoking. I will probably read other books by this author.

But I hated the ending - probably can't be too specific about why without giving away major spoilers. [remainder of review deleted to avoid plot spoiler]

I picked this up at an airport bookstore before getting on what I knew would be a long flight. It was a fantastic chance find and I was rivetted. I was moved to tears in several passages and applaud the author for her ability to tackle this sensetive issue. I agree with some of the reviewers that if there is one weakness in the book, it is that, often the voice of the 13 year old, doesn't quite sound like that of a 13 year old, and is a little difficult to accept. All in all, a fantastic book.

Very compelling reading and a great insight into relationships and family dynamics. I felt Picoult didn't write as a 13yo very well, but this doesn't take anything away from the book. Good story/plot with a whole array of emotions to deal with. Would make a great movie.

Main plot was Dry
If Campbell and Julia's relationship had not existed as such in the book, this would have been the worst book I have ever read. However, because of how heart wrenching and beautiful their relationship turned out to be, I think about this book still, many years after reading it.

My sister's keeper.
I liked the book overall but some things about this novel could have been much better.
First of all I found Sara (the mother) to be very annoying. Throughout the whole book she never acknowledges her son Jesse.
She also never does anything besides having Kate attached at the hip.
I understand this in a way but the type of cancer that Kate has is almost ALWAYS fatal. Sara can never come to terms that her daughter may die.
Sara is self-absorbed and extremely selfish.
I know she wants to save her daughters life but my god.. get a hobby!
Also Anna, she is full of discrepancies and confusion.
Usually when a person makes up their mind.. that's how it stays.
I want to shake them BOTH.
It really reminds me of a horror movie where the girl hears a sound outside and goes looking for it's source. Duh.
This book really brings to light peoples deceptive sides and puts families in general in a bad light.

DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BOOK !
I read My Sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult because a lot of people suggested reading it. I don't see what all the rage is about. This book is EXTREMELY DRAGGING and boring. It is a 423-page book and on the 400th page they finally reveal the answer ... [edited to remove plot spoiler] .... But it shouldn't take 400 pages to get to the answer. The book is all about sadness and worriness and nothing else. There are no twists and it is definately not a "PAGE TURNER" book. If you are deciding to read this book, don't waist your time or money, because I thought it would be way different by everyone else's review.
