this book is horrible and worthess i wouldnt pay a penny for it if t were my own money . there should be a recall on into the wild because the book goes from him being dead to alive in difirent chapters ant the front coer tells you hes dead

Why does it tell u he dies on the cover. That ruins the whole entire book. Whats the sense in him comparing Chris with the other male that live similar to him? This book is just senseless in my opinion.

The book seems pieced together, not really follwing one stream fo thought. Krakauer jumps about, and seems to be guessing most of what happened with McCanless.

I thought it was boreing, repetitive, and just plain stupid. So the kid went crazy and went to live in the woods, woopie, if someone did that right now, you'd call him a lunatic. Thats exactly what Chris was. He put himself in that posistion and thats it. Why glorify a moron? The book itself barely even told about Chris, it told of what the writer thought about Chris, and the expieriances of hisown, and others. If the writer was more focesed on Chris, and not useing fancy, hard to understand words, it would of been better

How can this book have so many excellent reviews? I would definitely not give it the title of "hard to put down". To me, it was more along the lines as "hard to pick up". I never finished it, it's still staning in my closet, but I do think I gave it an honest try. The descriptions become always the same and the incorporation of philosophy within the novel simply could have been done better. In one word - boring. I've read LOTS of more interesting books, but this one... hasn't done it for me. More stuff needs to happen, please. After the first three chapters, this book becomes WAY too repeptitive. By the way, I'm 17 and working on an English major. Just for the sake of you reader knowing if you want to give it a shot or not.

this book lacked excitement i couldnt get into it. I had to read it for school and now because id didnt remember ne of it im looking for a summary of it with charcter names. THIS BOOK WAS NOT GOOD I WOULD NOT SIGEST IT TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book lacks excitement. It is extremely boring, and it jumps from discussion of Chris (the main character in a large portion of the book) to discussion of the author and tales of other people who suffered a similar fate to Chris. Had Krakauer stuck to the story more and livened up the plot, Chris McCandless's life would have made an enjoyable read, and the entire book would have been more enjoyable.

This book Royally sucked! It was boring and I couldn't get through 2 pages without falling asleep!
