This was a book that most attracted my attention when I was an eight grader because one of my language arts teachers show us the book and recommended to us since then I had trouble trying to find the book because it was on hold someone was reading it or it was lost. Until this year my tenth grade year as a high schooler I went straight to the library and asked for the book and they give it to me. As I started to read it I thought it was going to be just a typical book that is about child abuse but as I read more and more I realized that what I thought in the beginning was wrong. This book was really sad I cried a lot with it specially in the part his mom was about to kill him and stab him by an "accident". I think this book could get more than a five I loved this book and the other ones too.

This book is the best book I have ever read. I was having a heard time with my life when I started to read this book. It made me look at how blessed I was, and made me think a little bit about that some kids are out there dealing with that and it's very sad to even try to think about it.

The book was wonderful but a very sad story...no child anyplace should have to endure such abuse. It really made me more aware of all the evil people in the world. It makes you think concerning how a mother could inflict such pain on her own child. The book is a "must read" and everyone should own a copy!!

I like reading enough, but I absolutely loved this book. I read it all in one sitting. It made me cry, but it also reminded me how lucky I am compared to so many kids who are abused in many ways. Sometimes people just feel sorry for themselves, but books like this can remind them that there's always somebody way worse off than you. This book was amazing.

I thought this book was a wonderful book it was very sad and it opens your eyes to what alcohol can really do to you and how it effects your children.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I HATE to read and this is honestly the ONLY book I didn't have to skip any pages or chapters to enjoy. It made me really think how lucky I am in life. I felt so bad for the little boy. I'm not an emotional person but I did tear up a little, I'm not going to lie. I had to read this for my sophomore English class and I recommend it constantly. Loved it!!!! READ IT!!

The book was a great story that kept me reading when I wanted to put the book down. This author is one of the greatest and i was introduced to this book by my cousin and I can't wait 'till I read the rest of his work.

This book took me through a very emotional journey while reading it the book was excellent to read but his mother was a very evil woman i feel greatly sorry for dave pelzer.
