Amazing
"A Child Called It" by David Pelzer is the most amazing book I have ever read. It gives an insite of how horrible some kids lives are. It truly touched my heart. It made me cry and I have told everyone I know who reads, that they really need to read it. It will definitely change how you look at things and teach you not to complain about your life because you could have it worse

A Child's Fight To Survive!
David Pelzer went through a lot. Trying to deal with an alchoholic mother, and abuse. He managed to survive to tell the story. I am very glad that he did because no child should have to deal with that. A mother should act like a mother. She should not abuse her children.

WOW!!!!!!!!
It is disgusting that a mother would treat her child like this. I read this book when I was 5th grade and I just fell apart. Can you imagine being treated like dirt and your father not helping you. That is just despicable. What kind of evil creature is she. She put him into a bathroom with cleaners! She is crazy!

How I felt about a child called it
This book is very, very sad. I don't see how anyone could treat their child that way. I mean, it's ok if a parent just yells at their kid or tells them to take a time-out, but I don't see how anyone could beat up their child or starve them to death. No child deserves that, no matter what they do.I feel very, very sorry for that boy. If I was around at that time, I would so take him away from her. I would give him food to eat, too if he was my child. I don't know what was wrong with his mother. I think she was very, very mentally ill. I hope Dave Pelzer is living a better life now and if he has kids, I hope he is not doing the same thing to them. I don't know if there were any children who were abused as bad as he was. I hope he found all the happiness he deserves, and I hope he is living a happier life today.

i don't know...
I'm reading this book, and I don't think I will finish it.I sympathize with the boy,II believe he was abused, but still... the writing style is poor. He doesn't explain how it all startED. in one moment they were happy family, and suddenly his mother hates him, but we don't know why. If she was sick, why didn't she abuse her other sons? There must be some reason why him. It was not just punishing, it was killing a child. And what about his father? He might be weak, but how weak to let his wife starve his child???
I don't know... to many whys. Again, I feel so sorry for him, and I would protect him if I was his father, but I don' like this book

Touched
I have never been so touched as to when I read this book. It's unnerving to think that any human being could possibly do the things that his mother did to another human being, but much less a child. This book will have your stomach in knots, and angry to a certain extent, but nevertheless will inspire you beyond belief and will make you realize how fragile life is. It makes you want to love ALL children, no matter who they are.
