i've been always reading stories for Grisham and injoying them, but this story was different from the other ones i've read, it was more than i expected, it contains suspens and pulls the reader to continue reading to know what will him,and as Grisham used to do,it has a good lesson : someday the good person will get a gift as an expression of his good behavior towards people.

I loved this book because it really kept me on edge the whole time but without the whole aspect of chasing, pillaging, raping and killing. It was just about a man in embarked on a journey that would, in the end, replenish his tattered soul. I really liked the fact that the "family" of the late Troy Phelan were shown as money-hungry greedy humans, unworthy of even a cent of the huge fortune. Although the money was focused on a lot, it wasn't worshipped by all of the characters and that really brought out the personality of them. I'd recommend this book to anyone who has time to sit back and read because it is semi-long and easiest to read when you have a lot of time to get involved in the storyline.

With this novel, Grisham has grown from a 'book-a-year machine author' into an accomplished writer. In this writing, when he describes his characters, he bares their souls, Rambo, Troy Jr., Rachel, Nate, et al. When he describes the locations and settings, he visually paints a picture for me. He makes me feel like the fly on the wall.
With the right screen play writer, director, and casting; this has the potential of becoming an Oscar laden movie in numerous categories.

It was a really good book!

What a great book! This was the first book I read from John Grisham, and he has instantly become my favorite author. I would have never thought, by looking at the cover, that the this book would be that good. The plot NEVER dragged on and it always kept me interested. It was never slow, and the ending was great. I read THE CLIENT, and that was good, and I am starting THE SUMMONS this week. I hope it will be as good as THE TESTAMENT was.

I highly reccomend this book to anyone that enjoys a good book to read.

This book was absolutely without a doubt GREAT! I LOVED this book. This is my favorite Grisham book. I stayed up all night just to finish this book and it was worth it. I've recommended this book to friends who have never read Grisham before. I wish this book is made into a movie too. It would make a great movie and I would stand in line and pay five bucks to see it too.

The testament is no doubt a good planed bombshell, which twists the court lawsuit and the fantastic Brazilian advanture together. It strongly reveals the greed of people in the material society; on the other side, the wildly mystery Brazilian nature gives up the peaceful scene. Even I have not been there, I feel just like being there and experience the hardship and life-threat. Meanwhile I'm sad about the people living in the civilization. Their dirty spirits and immoral behaviours.......
