What readers think of The Testament, plus links to write your own review.

The general premise of this book is great. The greedy heirs, the missionary who wont take the inheritance, the Washington Lawyers who fight tooth and nail to secure the money, but it never really reaches its full potential. All the way through the book Grisham tells us why the Phelan heirs should not get the money, and then in the end they get it anyway. Plus the Nate thing sort of collapsed. Did he find Religion in the end or not? Good, but could have been better.

I think this book was interesting, but quite predictable. Look at all the hints Grisham gave that led you to believe Troy was not going to leave his money to his family. Grisham also uses great detail where it seems needed the least. Maybe if his books were a little more to the point, they would be more exciting.

I was never a book reader (never found the time). I had to read The Testament for my English final. What a great book! I am now a John Grisham book reader!

Last semester, I took the ESl class in a community college and read this novel.

Firstly, It was my great chance to read The testament by John Grisham, a novel written in American language style.
Secondly, the characters in the story are perfectly described their psychological reactions by the author.
Moreover, the author reveals that some people ussually purchase for the money and then the money will run away from them.

Troy Phelan, one of the 10th richest men in US, was a lonely and unloved husband and father as well. In his last-minute will. HE left all of his fortune for the right person, Rachel lane. This illegitimate daughter is a very good- hearted person who has devoted all her life for human beings.
The theme of the story is also about how to make a meaningful life because this world is full of peace and freedom.

Finally, I beleive that everyone has ever read this novel could find something to learn, something to think about and something to do for the world around us.

I really love this book. But I have a suggestion to Grisham: He should
make The Testament Part 2 where Rachel Lane will make a holographic will
and then no one knew who is the receiver of her fortune and Nate will
travel again around the world to find the right person who will became
the next multibiliionaire then that person will die again because of
Dengue and will made another will for the Testament Part 3...... I will
just write the story next time. I'm still thinking of it.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I appreciated that a book published in the secular market was so clear in its presentation of the Christian concept of redemption. The story kept me entertained, but it also drew me to reflect on my own life.
