i liked this book because you got to see how she was treated by her husband. I think everyone should read this book

I just finished the book. I've read other books that dealt with the concept of domestic violence from a woman's point of view, and I'd have to say that this one is definitely not as graphic. I'm not too sure whether I wanted more of an explanation for the ending, but maybe the author intended to not be cliche. I would defnitely say I couldn't put the book down and wanted to find out what was happening to the characters, and I especially loved the emotional descriptions throughout the book. Well written, and recommended, be wary of finding the realistic nature of the abuse though, for from what I understand it could have been portrayed much more graphically.

I was assigned this book for a project in my grade 11 Uni. English class, and I really enjoyed reading it, However, I was a little disappointed with the ending. Though it was quite realistic, it seemed to end a little abruptly. Despite that fact, I still found it an interesting read, and am looking forward to making a presentation on it :)

It is delightly developed book. A reader cannot stop reading. It is full of suspense. Step by step you will be aqcuiented by moving back and following forward. However, whole story goes on only through the eyes of Fran Benedetto; all things were up to her. She made a decision to run away. Meanwhile reader could find that by running away she won't find a solution. A year spent with fear of back and hopes to future in Florida was not better than her old life. Moreover, the end is terrible. How she could lost from her sight to make claer about the promise made by her husband that the rest of her life gonna be worse than death. It is unclear for me. It would be almost a perfect book if it had had a clever end.

I didn't give this book a rating because I wasn't sure how to rate it,it was a very good book but I have mixed feelings about it. She,theauthor, confuses you the way she can go from the past to the present and back again butit was a tender book. I'm glad she didn't go on with the vivid details of the abuse and its a bookI'll reco-mend to anybody.avery good book.
