This book led me into a whole new "magical" world. I read it b/c ppl were talking about it so i was like "what the heck? i'll try." and within a month i read the first three books. I've seen the movie. it's great. Trust me!! U'll love it!!

the book, in fact all of them, are magnificently made!!!! every book contains exciting twists in plot and comedic scenes. all really enhances my vocabulary,,, they are expensive but worth buying, i have them all - the 1st 4 books!!! of course, praises should be raised to the intelligent author, Ms. J.K. Rowling... i hope she will read this one...

I enjoyed the book very much. Why did I rate it a four do you ask? Because I thought J.K. Rowling could have wrote it more descriptive. When I read the book, I didn't see the same kind of things the movie showed. But in all, both movie and Book were very well done. Thanks for the entertainment.

I rated this book a 4 because you kinda got confusing in some of the chapters of what exactly was going on, and It didnt making alot of sense for a first book! But sooo good so far

After reading this book, I knew I had to read the rest of the series. I saw the movie, too! I am a freshman in high school.

JKR's magic world is very creative. I like how it meshes with and yet is hidden from the Muggle world. Characters are very honest and believable (whether good or bad). The plot was very inventive with a good twist at the end. I didn't want the story to end. The only negative point is that it relied on Harry 'convienently' overhearing important conversations needed to advance the plot - once maybe, but several times is too much. This trend continued in the following books.
