Our Missing Hearts
This book hit close to home for me being someone that has lived on the edge between being a Chinese person and being an American. Finding it hard to fit in at school or in the community from looking and acting different.

Ever since the rise in Asian hate crimes across the country recently, my parents have constantly told me to keep a low profile and keep my head down.

This book gave me chills. The Crisis, the division in this country, and the violence. These are all very real and still happening. And the discrepancy between class and how affected they were by the Crisis (this being COVID-19 in the real world). While some lost their jobs others overcame it by tightening their belts.

This is a book I'll think about for awhile after putting it down.

This book is dark, emotional, and also hopeful. I definitely recommend it and think it will be great for readers that have loved Celeste's other books and I think this will be a great one for book club discussions!

Too slow
This story was too slow for me, it dragged out and then at the end it leaves you hanging on what happens to the main characters! I had high expectations but sadly one of the worst I’ve read, would not recommend.
