Stargirl what a strange name but it sure fits her personality. Stargirl is a strange person who seems to change her name alot. At first people didn't know what to do about her, then they thought she was cool. Until she she did something that turned the whole school against her. But perfect time for leo to fall in love. This book keeps you guessing all the way to the end untill...
( my 5th grade class read this book in groups. my group is 3 boys and 5 girls we all loved the book.)

This book is absolutely awesome! It makes sense that it is reccomended for 12+, because it deals with highschool kids/issues. I find myself relating to parts of the book, and I'm sure teenagers nationwide would love this book, if they would just pick it up off the shelf. And, as far as "don't judge a book by it's cover" goes, this bright green book jacket w/ matching code SCREAMS: PICK ME UP!!!
Starr
My name is Starr, yes... that is what first intrigued me to read Stargirl. I am 18 years old, and a freshman in college. I am taking a Children's literature class, and this is one of the books that was recommended to us. I absolutely loved it. I thought the characters were very well developed, and I was able to identify with at least one of the characters at any given time. Stargirl reminded me a lot of myself in high school. But at the same time, Leo reminded me of me too. Everyone wants to badly to be different, but no one really has the courage to do so. Most people are like Leo. They yearn for the weird and individual, but at the same time, need the reassurance of fitting in. I think this book is important to 7th and 8th graders, going into high school. They can use this book as a look into what highschool could be like, and show them several different paths they can choose. It also contains good messages about being a good friend, being yourself, etc. I strongly recommend this to anyone. I loved it.

Stargirl captured my mind. I couldn't put it down. My teacher advised me to read it and I am very happy she did! I am only 14 years old, but I think this book is good for any age!!

hmmm this book was an awesome book. if i could give it more out of 5, i would. the story told in this book was awesome, and i am so glad i read it. i felt a connection with stargirl, b/c things run about the same at my school and i (along with a few others,) choose to stand out rather than fit in. the whole idea behind the book was a good one, but the way jerry expressed the idea and told the story was beautiful and moving. however i dont know if i liked the ending a whole lot, i wish <<edited for potential plot spoiler>>....i think jerry should right a sequel book *hint hint*
