This book was really amazing. I loved the story itself but the author express more feelings than words. On of the best that i've read yet.

The only thing I didn't like about this book is when Leo tried to change Stargirl. BUT I think that's what anybody who is stuck living like everyone else would do too. I admire Stargirl for her courage to stand up to the everyday crowd and be herself, despite what anybody says. This is my new favourite book. I will live the rest of my life differently because of this book.

The book is wonderful it teaches us that bieng different is sometimes good I would compare myself to her in someways I do not follow the crowd but sometimes I do. Also it teaches what might happend in first love.

I am a 25 year old educator, artist, actress, bartender, "tourist" guide. I could not put this book down because I couldn't wait to find out how it ended. It had me laughing out loud and smiling ear to ear! It made me want to sream at the top of my lungs, " EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK! EMBRACE LIFE! EXCEPT YOUR DIFFERENCES!"
Jerri you have not only inspired me as a teacher, you have inpired me to embrace my individuality, to take the time to notice the "unnoticed," to be that first domino that falls not because I am pushed but because I choose to fall, making the impact on someone else.
I feel that the few that rated your book low have never had the experiences that would allow them to understand it. For those of us that are similiar to Stargirl, we search for those that are "like" us while accepting whomever comes our way. We long to find that place where we belong or feel comfortable. Yet at the same time we are okay if we don't find it. Thank You!! I will find a way to use this book in whatever class I am teaching. We won't just read it, we will "live it" (to whatever extint I can make possible - Random Acts of Kindness).

I really loved this book because it shows the reality of what school really is like right now and how cruel your peers can be just because you act differently. Stargirl only tried to be her weird happy self no knowing how much hatred bestowed upon her for how she acted until she fel in love and a boy tryed to help her see what she had ignored at school. This is a good romance with a very sad ending.

this book was originally recommended to me because my best friend had read it and thought stargirl was a lot like me in some ways. and i agree with her...sort of. stargirl is all of us weirdos with far more confidence in herself than we have, enough confidence to be properly insane and wonderful. maybe because she was homeschooled, and didn't have to face the conformist attitudes of her classmates from an early age. when i was in kindergarden, i got picked on for being unconventional, made to cry because my favourite colour wasn't pink, it was brown, and i didn't necessarily think that boys were "icky". stargirl didn't have that, she didn't have to know how stupid people can be. i hated leo for trying to tell her, crush her. susan was annoying.

"booorrinnnggg! Ugh like ANY of this EVER happens. Yeah. If she went to my high school she would just hang out with the losers...its just how things work. If this Jerry guy is going to write a book he shoulkd make it realistic."

something makes me think you didn't read the whole book/weren't paying attention/have never been one of the "losers"/all of the above. congratulations. stargirl was loved by everyone for a very, very short time. yes, i suppose even that short time was a little unrealistic. but maybe not. she didn't *hide* from everyone. she existed so pointedly at them that they couldn't help but get to know her. and she loved everybody. eventually, they hated her for that too, but it's hard to immediately hate someone who leaves candy on your desk and desperately wants to help any hurt you may have. after she'd bent the conventionality laws too far, they shunned her. she *did* hang out with "the losers" for most of the story. i'm guessing you've never known many "losers" very closely. losers rock, just so you know. personally, i think we should all try to be losers more often. then we'd all get it.
