The book stargirl was definitely not my favorite book. it was a good novel as far as it kept me fairly interested, but the plot was pretty predictable, and i think that it was too nonsensical. While the book is okay for a younger generation ( around 9 ) for my age i think it was a little premature. The rating i give it is a 3.

Hey ya'll-
This book was awsome, at first cause I can really relate to "Stargirl" she sounds so much like me, and the fact that I'm in highschool also helps out. I've learned that it is ok to be different and if everyone was the same the school would be so "blah". I am a very different person and I don't care what people think about me at all. They can like me for who I am or they don't have to like me at all. The part I didn't like about the book was when she changed b/c of a guy...I would never change no matter what. People should always be themselves!

I gotta say that the story was "ok". It's too bad the ending couldn't have been better. It wasn't too realistic, because who goes around singing happy birthday to others with a ukelele when they think they're 'in"? no one would wanna sacrifice their status by doing that. Sorry Jerry Spinelli, but I'm writing a book and it's more fantastic than what you wrote. It's FUNNY. Your's is weird..!>>!>!>!>

Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli, is a book about a 14 year old girl who has been home schooled her whole life, until she joins an actual school with other year 10's. At first, many people start to like her, then when she doesn't make an effort to fit in properly- cheering on other teams at sporting games and keeping her annoying, very unique personality, she starts to become unpopular by the other teens at school and her only friend ends up to be Leo Borlock- who is torn between being in love with Stargirl and ruining his own reputation by liking her. This book is about popularity, being yourself and not being someone everyone else wants you to be, going with what you believe in and not caring about what others think of you. Stargirl was unique- different to all the other girls in her grade- this may be because of her up-bringing, not knowing how 'normal' tennagers act, or maybe it was just her personality of wanting to stand out in a crowd and being 'different'. I think this book was okay because it showed girls reading it that you don't have to follow everyone else just to fit in- to be yourself and not care what others might think of you. On the other hand, I think the book could have had a more exciting plot, and I would recommend it to younger girls, maybe grade 7's or 8's, who would be interested in this type of book. I personally wasn't very interested but I'm sure it would appeal to others. I give it a 3 out of 5.

I rated the book Stargirl a 3 because it was a good book at the beginning, but I did not like the way it ended. I liked the way Stargirl was one of those people who don't care what people think of her, but did her own thing. Stargirl was an excellent book at the beginning, but at the end it just really ticked me off. Even though I thought it was good, it was still very confusing throughout the whole book. That is why I rated Stargirl a 3.

The book was all right but it was mainly about a boy named Leo Borlock it was a long book to read in class I think it is to mushy myself. If you want to kill some time read it.

The book Stargirl was good, but confusing at times. Although this novel had an important and powerful message, it just wasn't that great for me. At times the story was hilarious, romantic, exciting, heartbreaking, and upseting but it would also get boring, confusing, and sometimes leave you saying,"Huh?" The beginning was great and I couldn't wait to read on, but by the end of the book, I just wasn't that happy about how the book turned out. It was strange and sad when everyone at school was shunning her for, what I thought, was a stupid reason. So what if she cheered for the other team, that wasn't why their basketball team lost the championship. I think Stargirl should have been excepted for who she was. I know they excepted her in the beginning, but then they just rejected her after she cheered for the other teams. If you ask me, she brought life and color to that boring black and white Wayne Parr school and they should have thanked her for that. Mabe if a sequel was written, it could explain more. I liked the book, don't get me wrong, but it just wasn't what I expected.

At the beginning of the story I got bored with it, but later it got better (it is not one of those book that really keep you at edge of your set). Sometimes it made you wont to cry and lol. The book really got me in it when she became popular, right then I knew there was going to be a big turning point was right some thing bad happened to her people stared rejecting her. So Leo tolled her she had to change and she did b/c she loved him. So in away I liked this book and did not.
