Don't Mess with Grandma !
What to do when life has gone from bad to worse ? Mourning your beloved husband, dealing with children who score zero in self awareness and a cranky father in an assisted living facility? Enough for a 71 year old grandmother to deal with but then the real fun begins. From Florida to Romania, Loretta ups her game to get back what is hers. Can't wait for a sequel!

Sobering Yet Entertaining Novel
I really enjoyed this book! The writing style is witty and entertaining while shining a light on the serious nature of cyber crime. The author takes a familiar cyber scam and turns the tables on what is usually an unrecovered loss, revealing heroes where the reader least expects it. Hooray for Mrs. Plansky!

Senior Citizen Review
Every senior citizen with grandchildren should read this book. It is fast paced but with a lesson to be learned.

Delightful Read
Spencer Quinn has created a series worthy character in Mrs. Loretta Plansky. I was a little hesitant about the story at first because it seemed as if Mrs. Plansky was being taken advantage of by ungrateful family members but Mrs. Plansky proved more than able to take care of herself and her great adventure in righting the wrongs done to her and her family was both entertaining and heartwarming. I thought it was absolutely brilliant that Mrs. Plansky's late husband, Norm, was such an important influence for Mrs. Plansky that he became part of the story even though he was deceased. And yet we also saw her move on from Norm's death in important ways too. Overall this was a fun read with characters I hope we will see again in a new series.

Mrs. Plansky's Revenge
Mrs. Plansky is the grandmother I aspire to become. She is fearless, feisty, and fabulous all at once. I'm not sure some of the circumstances are totally believable, but who cares, the plot is delightful! What a fun adventure. I'd take a trip with Loretta anytime! I wanted to learn more about Dinu and Romeo. What happens???!!! Did Romeo make his fortune? Did Dinu make it to America? There must be a sequel please!

Don't Mess With Mrs. Plansky!
I've read several of Spencer Quinn's Chet and Bernie series and have enjoyed them, in large part due to Chet's (the dog) narration of the story. So when I saw that Quinn had written Mrs. Plansky's Revenge, I requested the ARC from Book Browse.

Mrs. Plansky is a business-savvy 71-year-old widow with a lot of spunk. She and her husband made a lot of money with an invention they developed. Sadly, all of that is threatened due to her falling for a phone scam. Here's where the spunk comes in: Mrs. Plansky decides to remedy her situation. What she comes up with forms the groundwork for an exciting story.

Mrs. Plansky is a wonderful character and I think it would be great if she had her own series. If you're in the mood for a grandma-in-jeopardy story, this just might be the book for you.

A different story from Spencer Quinn
I need to say upfront that I have long been a fan of Peter Abrahams/Spencer Quinn. I especially love his Chet and Bernie series - I might be considered a Chet groupie. So I was predisposed to like this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a different story than the Chet and Bernie series - there are no dogs. What it does share with that series is Quinn's trademark wit and his knowledge and acceptance of human behavior and frailties. Mrs. Plansky is a well-to-do retired widow with an overly dependent family and an overly developed need to fix everyone's problems. When she is caught up in the grandparent scam and realizes that the officials aren't going to recover her money, she decides to take matters into her own hands. What follows is a most amusing read even if it should come with the "don't try this at home" warning. Highly recommended - along with all his other books.

A fun cozy mystery
I really enjoyed this book! Mrs. Plansky is recently widowed and gets a scam call for money in the middle of the night. She falls for it and is instantly broke. She sets out on a flight to Romania to get her money back and set things right after no help here in the US. Her adventure is a lot of fun. I am looking forward to more of her adventures.
