Page turner!
I read Close My Eyes in two days, couldn't put it down! The story begins with Geniver and her husband Art going for a consultation for yet another IVF procedure. Eight years ago, Geniver delivered a stillborn girl and hasn't been successful in getting pregnant again. A women shows up a few days later at her door claiming that her baby was born alive and the doctor took her away while she was still under the anaesthetic. Close My Eyes unwinds as a story that is both complicated and compelling. I highly recommend this book, it was a fascinating read!

Close My Eyes
Like many of the other reviewers of this book, I read it in one sitting and, like them I am sure that it will be a big seller. However, unlike many others, I read it to find out "why" because I was tipped off as to "who" . The author gave it away by her choice of the names of the main characters in the story. Anyone familiar with anything to do with the legend of Camelot would spot this too. As an American reader I also found the many references to London stores and current British slang a little strange ( although only a minor detail) Nevertheless I enjoyed the book, it was a fun read.

Wow! A real roller coaster ride..
If psychological thrillers appeal, this is a must-read. The characters felt real and the twists of plot held my interest on every page from the first to last. It was almost impossible not to read straight through just to see what was to happen.
And what did happen will leave you breathless.

Good beach read
I enjoyed reading "Close My Eyes". It kept me reading even though I wanted to go to sleep. It moves quickly and I wanted to be the main character's best friend. It is a book you think about long after it has been read. I don't usually read many thrillers, but I would if they were as well written as this one.

Chills and thrills
Close my eyes will probably be this year's Gone Girl because it is a psychological thriller but not as dark. It took me a while to get into the book, and I thought Gen was whiny and a little obsessive about the loss of the child 8 yrs previously. Art was too intense for me and I felt he pressed the IVF issue rather than letting Gen accept it. There were a lot of twists in the story and when I thought that I had it figured out, realized that there was more info to be had which changed my ideas. The diary writing and thought processing seemed too mature for the child to write. It was intriguing, painfully sad, and a little contrived but it had all the elements of a good story and will certainly appeal to a wide range of book groups.

Kept me on the edge of my seat
This story of Geniver and the mystery surrounding the death of her baby 8 years before was impossible to put down. It was difficult tell if she was losing her mind or if someone close to her was deceiving her. The comparisons to Gone Girl and Before I go to Sleep are spot on.

Close My Eyes... Or Open Them
Genever has suffered a loss that has haunted her for eight years. Unexpectedly, a woman shows up at her door with a message that fills her with painful hope and an almost frantic desire for the truth. From this point on the story takes twists and turns that make the reader wonder about Genever's sanity and safety. Befriended by a man she dares to trust, together they seek the truth about what happened to Genever's baby. I enjoyed this book very much, it was a real page-turner and hope to read more by this author.

Close My Eyes - Suspense!!
Sophie McKenzie's Close My Eyes was a great suspenseful read. Hearing Geniver's story of heartbreak from losing her daughter to the unbelievable possibility of Beth being alive leads the reader along a series of twists and turns. You are not sure if the cover up is real and you are constantly wondering who might be involved. It begs the question, do we really know the people close to us? An engaging and satisfying mystery!
