Being a woman
Direct and to the point. I loved the snippets of what was going on in her life. Married late in life. A caring, terrific Mother came to her rescue. The emotional and physical challenges that she experienced. I felt like I was with her throughout the book. I felt that I knew these people were part of my life.

A memoir Flesh and Blood
I found this to be a very interesting read. Her use of words and language was outstanding. At times I felt that I was right there with her. I thank her for sharing her life experience with me.

Flesh and Blood
The descriptive phrases written by author N. West Moss ring absolutely true. The reader never thinks the author is deliberately working at being poetic. Example: "Maybe everyone is made up of two rivers, the part on the surface that the sun hits, and the cool part that runs over the river rocks in the shadows that no one can see."
The beautiful, literary-quality writing illuminates a book about a woman experiencing heavy bleeding and having a hysterectomy. I hope the author will use her extraordinary talent with different subject matter. I think many possible readers will be lost because of the graphic descriptions. The writing is gorgeous and I hope readers are lucky enough to enjoy more from this author.

An Unexpected Delight
I have to admit, it took me a while to pick up this book. I chose it but then I became anxious about what I might read. it is not my usual genre and I was afraid I could not relate or would be overwhelmed with sadness. Instead it felt as though I was on a weekend retreat with a friend I had lost touched with years before, where I can be encouraged and uplifted by her self-awareness, confidence and vulnerabilities as she leisurely tells me of her experiences while we share a cocktail. Ms. West has given us a beautiful insight into her life, loves and experiences, and has gifted us with a relatable memoir regardless of our own experience - and the last pages felt like the good-bye hug that says, "Even if our paths don't cross again, you've got this, and I will miss you."

A Must Read for All Women
I loved the language in "Flesh and Blood" Infertility with its pain, both physical and emotional, is frankly discussed with sadness, reflection and wit. This book deals with the reality of the physical symptoms of heavy and ongoing menstrual bleeding. Something usually not discussed, usually hidden and considered taboo for open discussion. I think all women would benefit from reading this deeply personal and honest story. It's a beautiful story

Outstanding
I enjoyed every page of Flesh & Blood. I could not stop reading this honest, loving, courageous book. The author turns her energy from nurturing children to nurturing a life that blesses herself and those she loves. She uses the written word to pass down her history and vivid memories of loved ones and I felt enriched by hearing her tales. Ms. West Moss's love of nature was beautifully described. After reading this memoir, I felt like I had been on a healing journey with her. I will be recommending this book to my book club and anyone I come in contact with that enjoys reading.

Excellent Memoir
I thoroughly enjoyed "Flesh & Blood" by N. West Moss and consider it an outstanding memoir! The book held my interest, and the short concise chapters kept the narrative moving. Ms. Moss is a beautiful and poetic writer. She honestly shares her emotions and feelings about infertility and the daunting health challenges that she bravely endured. I loved the stories about her mother and grandmother, both remarkable women! Although much of the content is serious, the author has a sense of humor, and some sections are quite funny! I would recommend this book to anyone interested in women's issues and to anyone who loves a good memoir.
