Robert B. Oxnam was internationally recognized as an Asia specialist and dynamic speaker. He often guided prominent Americans seeking in-depth knowledge of China, including Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. For more than ten years, he was president of the Asia Society, which has headquarters in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Houston, and Hong Kong. Oxnam was the author of A Fractured Mind: My Life with Multiple Personality Disorder and lives in New York City. He died in April 2024 at his home in Greenport, N.Y. aged 81.
