How to pronounce Jonas Jonasson: YO-niss YO-niss-uhn
Jonas Jonasson was born in the city of Växjö in southern Sweden in 1961. He first started writing when working as a journalist for a number of Swedish newspapers. That was when the character of Allan Karlsson came to him: He started to write his first novel The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. The debut became a huge international success and was published all over the world. In 2013 it was turned into a major motion picture.
The international success was repeated with Jonas' second novel The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden. A movie adaptation is now in the works, developed by the Hollywood-based Icelandic producer Joni Sighvatsson.
Jonas' third novel, Hitman Anders and the Meaning of it All, published in 2015.
The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man published in Europe in 2018 and in the USA in 2019.
