Lea Ypi Biography

Lea Ypi (born 8 September 1979) is Albanian. She earned her laurea (equivalent to an undergraduate degree) in philosophy at the Sapienza University of Rome in 2002, and her laurea in Literature and Journalism from the same institution in 2004. She received her Master of Research from the European University Institute in 2005 and her PhD from the European University Institute in 2008. She is currently professor of political theory at the London School of Economics, and a prominent left-wing voice in Europe. She lives in London and contributes regularly to the Guardian.
