Emily Critchley grew up in Essex and has lived in Brighton and London, where she worked as a bookseller in one of London's largest bookshops. She has a first class BA in Creative Writing from London Metropolitan University and an MA with distinction in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, University of London. She now lives in Hertfordshire and combines writing with working part-time as a secondary school librarian where she runs a popular creative writing club.
