Did you figure out what happened to Alice before her fate was revealed? At what point did you begin to suspect what had happened?

Basically yes, it seemed the obvious solution.

I was pretty sure, it as just a matter of who did it and how.

Not really. There honestly weren’t a lot of possibilities and the reader knew from the beginning that someone was involved in her disappearance

Not really, although I never thought she was still alive. I didn't buy into the theory that Kovac had somehow taken her.

Well, I was pretty sure she was dead, but not how she died or who killed her, if it wasn't sheer accident.

It did seem she was probably dead, but the circumstances and who may have been involved did not come clear until the end.

Nope, I didn't; which is great. I rarely enjoy books that have predictable endings. I didn't think she was still alive but I wasn't sure what exactly had happened to her.

I really wasn’t sure. At first I thought she might have made it out but as time passed and no one heard from her, I thought she might be dead.

I did not figure out what happened to Alice until the author revealed it near the end of the book. I felt certain that she was lost and would not resurface - that she was, in fact dead, but I did not know how that had occurred. I wondered - early on - if the gas station attendant may have been the son of Kovac and he was out there somewhere stalking the women. But never did I suspect that Lauren would be involved. If this book had a weakness - for me it would be Alice's fate - it seemed a little too convoluted to me that both Bree and Lauren were involved in her absence.

Nope--was pretty sure she was dead but had no idea how it happened. I agree with PiperUp that it is, for me, a good book if I cannot figure out the ending. As I wrote in my review, I read the book in one day--nothing else mattered to me except What Happened to Alice???

I agree with the others who said yes, she was dead. but I had no idea who or how (other than the chances of being "taken" were slim).

I assumed Alice was dead. However, I thought someone connected with the Bailey business of money laundering had murdered her to keep their secrets. I was surprised at how it all played out— which made it a good book!

I think the fact that we didn't know what happened to Alice is was propelled the reader through this book. I didn't figure it out really until they found her body. It seemed possible she had left the camp and gone her own way, though one certainly considered the possibility she was dead.

Since the great and beautiful outdoors can become the worst villain, I was sure she had been murdered. There is the memory of the serial killer hanging over everyone's head. I honestly thought that the young man who worked at the gas station who saw everyone coming and going would be the villain, especially since he didn't show up or work on the day when Falk seemed to be getting close to solving the crime.

Like Marcia S, I also thought it was someone tied to the Bailey's business but then slowly found out it wasn't even close.

No, I did not. I had several ideas that kept changing as the book went on

I thought the outcome was inevitable. I don't think that detracted from the story though. The really important elements of this story were setting and characters, woman vs. nature and woman vs. woman.

I really did not have any idea of what happened to her and thought the author did a good job of introducing many "potential" characters and situations that could be responsible. That is what keeps a good mystery moving and the reader involved in the story.
