Salmon… served two ways, grilled and poached. And see what each chooses.

I would serve some kind of fish as it is abundant in Maine. Maybe a clam chowder, salmon, or crab cakes. Blueberry pie for dessert.

A feast! There diet seemed to consistent of soup and sandwiches with little enjoyment to speak of. I am thinking all the trappings of a holiday meal with a choice of several desserts would be wonderful.

Having met Lucy and William in this book, I don't think a dinner invitation from us would be likely!!

I agree with a few others, not sure Lucy and William would be coming to my house for dinner!🫣. But if they did it would definitely have to be a lobster dinner with all the trappings.

Of course for their Thanksgiving dinner I think they had hotdogs and baked beans, as I recall. So that must be a favorite. I think I would add some New England brown bread to that menu, but not much more.... dessert? Some one suggested blueberry pie... that sounds good, unless we go with blueberry cobbler.

Something that was easy for me to make so I could spend more time with my guests rather than hovering over the stove. Maybe a good old fashioned pot roast. A meal in one pot. For dessert - whatever they brought, They wouldn't show up empty handed, would they? Maybe apple pie, just in case and of course wine.

Haha - good question! I absolutely would have them over for dinner - I'd love to see if the Lucy and William in my head matched up to the real thing. :) I wouldn't try to serve seafood because if you've had good Maine seafood, you know it's crazy to try to reproduce it in NC where I live. :) I would serve my tried and true lasagne which was my grandmother's recipe. It's comfort food and always a hit.

I would serve New York strip steak and for drinks Manhattans, of course.
