Where have you seen the Danny Horst Rule play out in real life? What's your opinion of it? Have you seen the reverse happen?

This is the reverse of the Danny Horst rule...I have an old college friend who married a woman who was, shall we say, plain and know one that would turn a head. He was sought after and found to be extremely attractive by almost everyone woman on campus. I still cannot figure out what brought these two together.

Speaking of social
media… hahaha A while back there was an Instagram video or Facebook reel of a couple… one very fit, very good looking man, married to an overweight (and in my opinion very beautiful) woman. The video showed them on the beach-she was in a bikini. In order to get the clicks going, there was a caption that said something like “so many people say we shouldn’t even be together because he is too good looking for me”. I thought it was ridiculous! Do you! Be happy! Ignore the haters!
I don’t know what is wrong with me lol, but I do not spend a lot of time looking at other couples and making judgments on why they are together. I think most of us are worthy of finding love and being treasured by another person. Ok the exception to my not paying attention might be a 20 year old who is dating an 80 year old 😜, but in the end it really isn’t any of my darn business!

Over the years, I have noticed many relationships of powerful, accomplished women who choose a partner who dosen't seem to offer much--good looks, genoursity, an outstanding career. Why as these women drawn to seemingly losers? This solidifies the old adage, "Love is Blind".

I've seen it many times, as well as the reverse. The story brought to mind the way the media was so cruel to Delta Burke years ago, especially when she was first dating Gerald McRaney. She was persecuted because she was not model-thin, but she was a beautiful, talented woman. She had to work really hard to remain skinny enought to satisfy the producers of Designing Women & developed mental health issues because she was under so much pressure. McRaney was totally supportive of her, devoted to her, and clearly in love with her no matter what size she wore. I read an article about them not long ago . . . still married many years later and very happy, according to the interview. The Danny Horst Rule should not exist and doesn't matter at all, in the long run.
