I think this would be an excellent choice for a young woman heading off to college or just graduating and beginning her career. There is a very important message about self confidence in the book. I think the way it was delivered is better suited to younger readers.

I agree with acstrine about recommending the book to young women. I would also recommend it to anyone who is a fan of SNL.

I agree with the above comments. This book would definitely appeal to a younger audience. I would love to participate in a book club discussion of this book with a group of younger women. I’m sure I’d gain new insights into the book and learn what the realities are for women today.

I disagree with above comments. I’m 61 and enjoyed the book. I may not have picked it on my own, but believe it’s a good story and would make a good movie. Women that enjoy romance or a good story would enjoy this book.

I selected this book for my book club and we are women ranging in age from 57 to 70. We all loved it! It was lighthearted and fun. I was impressed with all the research that Curtis put into how SNL worked.

I think this book would appeal to almost anyone. There are some good messages about the importance of self-confidence, taking personal and professional risks, and the importance of being honest with yourself and a partner. Plus being there to support friends and family when they need you.

I think this book would be a fun read for anyone, but I think it is best suited for college and people entering the workplace.

RE: What kind of reader would you ...

I think the story can be enjoyed by women of all ages and, as noted, there is a great message about self-esteem embedded in the story. I don't think the story about living "real" life should be overlooked, either. After all, dating and romance are fine. But if a relationship is going to last for years or a lifetime, you have to understand that your partner is going to see you at your worst. And I thought the most endearing and genuine part of the story was when Noah showed up to help with Jerry. THAT was true love and the way the author illustrated his willingness to forget his celebrity status and pitch in because he cared was one of the most important aspects of the story . . . and the development of their relationship.
