Sasha and Autumn both often reflect on their last night hanging out in their tree house as teenagers. How did what happened that night have a lasting impact on their relationship? What secrets have they kept from each other, and why, in your opinion?

The relationship between Sasha and Autumn is one of the things that kept me reading. Autumn was my favorite character. It was sad that their inability to communicate kept them apart for eons, you would hope as time passed they would communicate better.

Their communication was shallow at best. Autumn leaving then coming back was the best thing for their relationship. Thirty years older will help with the communication of something that has been on your mind or bothering you for years.

Autumn's lack of communicating with Sasha only made their final relationship stall. If they were more in tune to their bodies, they may have had a closer one early in their young life. I felt like both of them were denying their life choices, especially Autumn. Along with her sexuality, she also had to deal with the fact that she was one of the Pecan children. One of these is quite a heavy task for someone to work through, but two, what a burden.
