This would be a good book for both YA and adult. The books by Elin Hilderbrand felt similar to me in both themes and writing style. Overall good summer reads.

Think this book would appeal to
readers looking for easy reads about family dynamics and relationships. If I had to pick a genre - women’s literature.

The pretend girlfriend/boyfriend or fake relationship in this book is a common theme in many romance/rom-com books and movies (think Hallmark movies). The grieving partner and cheating spouse storylines are also common threads.

I would agree with Gabi with regards to the audience and genre but add it could appeal to the reader looking for a book that they can use as an escape from the real world.

I think that it would fall into a romance/women's fiction category. I have read several books this year about fake relationships and am getting a bit sick of it.

I think this is a great book for those wanting a light read but still offers some realistic situations.

Undoubtedly, this is a story for women to read because the main character is emotionally strong and female. Please note, there are always exceptions to these stereotypes of mine, but Lark Smith dominates the story and she is very feminine.

Kristan Higgins' books are definitely geared toward women and fall into the "women's fiction" category. This is a rom-com featuring stock tropes (fake dating, for example) and a predictable happy ending, although Higgin does explore serious topics like grief, family dysfunction, and marital strife. I don't think it is suitable for YA readers because of the topics exmained.

I think this is a great travel book...One to throw in your carry-on or into a beach bag. I doesn't require in depth study, but it has enough character development to keep you engaged.

This was a perfect vacation read. As others have said, it may well be geared toward women, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a male, I wonder if I liked it because I could fill in the blanks for the male characters but enjoyed hearing more from the female characters' perspectives.
