Romeo seduces vulnerable young women, like servants, as well as daughters of the upper class, like Rosaline and Juliet. What do you feel he wants from them? Does it differ by rank? How does Rosaline disappoint those expectations?

They are like trophies, I think he feeds off the adulation of both servant women and upper class. He likes the feeling of power because they have no recourse against him. Rosaline rejected him before he was ready, and told Tybalt, whose death got him banished.

I think Romeo seduces whoever he fancies, regardless of their status. He flirts, they bite, he ruins them, and then abandons them. Once ruined, they are powerless. Rosaline may be the only one who willingly leaves him; however since the book covers a very short period of time, we don't know if there is anything he leaves with her, or with Juliet for that matter.

I agree with the comments above. He's a real control freak and loves the power he has over the women/girls he seduces. Rosaline is probably the only one who has challenged him. Unfortunately, in that time I'm sure women speaking out about men's bad behavior was dismissed and not taken seriously. Thankfully, we have made progress, but that mentality still exists in many communities.

Con artist and cad. He is spoiled, self-centered and full of himself. Part of his “plan” with Rosaline involved money, but I think conquests mostly were about power and control. In his mind, if he wanted something, he deserved it.
I have not seen any mention of Friar Laurence (who was creepy even in the play). Was he Romeo’s enabler or was he behind everything? I couldn’t help thinking of Jeffrey Epstein.

I agree with many here about Romeo’s motive being Power. I do not think it matters to him what class or rank the women are as long as he has some attraction to them, he will exploit whatever they have to offer in addition to their submission, whether that be money, sex Or opportunities. Tank wouldn’t matter because no matter, they are women in a time of no consequence, no say and no repercussions.

I think Romeo seduces young women simply because he can. I would imagine him to be both good looking and extremely charming. Unfortunately though he has zero respect for the young women. To him they are easy prey that can be quickly cast aside. I don’t think he would be interested in young women of the “lower classes” as they would not be any conquest. Sneaking into the bedrooms of those that shouldn’t be available to him is much more intriguing.

I don't necessarily think he was a pedophile. Rather I agree with the last poster in that I imagine him as a handsome young man who is charming and able to easily seduce young women. It's important to remember that these women seem to be generally in their teens so this is probably not hard for him to do. Moreover I think that he sincerely falls in and out of "love" and lust is what motivates him.
