I'm afraid I didn't see any openings for a sequel.

I don't see a compelling sequel but continuing the lives of the Jenny and Lucy, possibly also Liz, James and her Dad might be interesting. Does James renovate the house?

I could imagine a storyline that digs into Liz's father's Army service. Maybe Liz's investigation about the MP is revisited and leads to an exploration of government corruption that brings in James's efforts to get some restitution for his ancestral home.

Conceivably Liz and Marisa could solve lots of mysteries as detectives with old and new characters supporting the stories. Tana French has written several excellent novels about the Dublin Murder Squad.

I gather the question was asked because the author has written several series. I'd follow-up on the life of the evacuated girls; the romance of Liz and James; Liz and her newspaper reporting--perhaps another expose of a government policy.

I don't see a sequel using these characters but there could be a sequel about another of the families who had to abandon their homes during WWII and the changes that it made in their lives.

I could see a sequel that focuses on Liz and Marissa’s continued. detective efforts. Continuing the romance of Liz and James. And more of the history of the WWII era.

I could see more stories with Liz and Marisa working together as journalist and policewoman to solve crimes, but see no reason to continue the stories of the characters in this book, which seemed to verge on history, mystery and romance so that there was too much going on at times with little development of any particular genre.

I could envision a series in which Liz and Marisa team up to solve other mysteries and incorporates the fates of Jenny & her family, as well as Lucy. Perhap she stumbles upon evidence that her father really is the lying snake I believe him to be??

I don’t see anything compelling that would lead to a sequel other than possibly Marissa and Liz working together to solve mysteries. I wouldn’t be interested in trading the sequel

I think that a sequel to this book would have to be Liz and Marisa working together on mysteries but I'm not sure they are strong enough characters to carry another book.
