Powerful but touching story
This is a "I don't want to put it down" book. You simply have to know what will happen. Beautifully written, touchingly poignant, this is a story of one woman's courage in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds to keep her child safe and to find a cure. The story of how the father who initially rejected her when she was first pregnant but was able to make amends and realize that parenthood is a wonderful, though taxing experience and that he should be part of it made the story much deeper too. Memoirs are not my favorite genre for reading but Happiness by Heather Harpham has made it one I will pursue with more interest. Great book which I highly recommend.

Happiness by Heather Harpham
This book was not easy for me to read but grabbed my heart to the very core. Deep moving love, happiness, hope, fear, sadness, sprinkled with a little humor....it covered all the human emotions. Heather's relationship with Brian, her friends, family and children brought out each raw emotion. Brian, Heather, and Gracie are the very definitions of courage and strength, my only question is, although Heather mentioned a few prayers at the end of the story, how much did faith sustain her? I had to wonder if "faith" would have brought Heather and Brian some peace of mind. This memoir is one I will never forget and without any reservation recommend to all my friends and family. Heather, your work is exemplary!

Happiness
This was a great book! The author gives the reader a glimpse into the life of a family with a sick child. It is touching, sad, funny and such an incredible look into her life that I thank Heather Harpham for sharing her story.

Heather has such an expressive way with words that feelings and pictures are easily conveyed to reader. I couldn't put the book down. A must read!

Happiness by Heather Harpham
I write this review through eyes that are still blurry with tears. This memoir was in incredible, emotional roller coaster that I could not put down. I had to know what would happen to Gracie and to their family. I became fully vested in their story, wanting to will the outcome in a certain way, knowing that this was not a work of fiction. I was reminded of the strength and innate sweetness all children possess, as well as the importance of family and friends as a support system. I applaud Ms. Harpham for sharing her story, and her family, with readers everywhere.

Beautiful Memoir
This book was absolutely incredible. Considering my 'season' in life (early 30s and having kids), I could easily put myself right in her shoes. Her writing was full of pure and raw emotion which I found incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend this memoir...it was a definite page-turner and tear jerker. It also gives you a shock to reality and makes you want to enjoy each and every moment with your kids.

Heartwarming Story
I could not put this book down! This memoir is, at times funny, at times sad, but always captivating.
Heather Harpham draws the reader into her story and, it is as if you are there with her family during the good times and not so good times. Always I was absorbed by this heartwarming story and finished reading it with tears running down my face.
Thank you Heather for sharing this story

A perfect match
First of all WOW, what an unputdownable book. Thank you so much for the ARC copy. I was looking for a remarkable read and it showed up in my mail box. Happiness, a memoir by Heather Harpham is life affirming. Her writing is absolutely beautiful and I fell right into the story. It made me sing, cry, laugh and be oh so grateful. This memoir is a must read, so pick it up and take the day off.

Happiness
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it very quickly since i like medical memoirs with a happy ending.which I knew from the title. The author did a good job of sharing her daughter's journey and thoughts as she went through the transplant process as a very young child. This all took place over 10 years ago when embryonic stem cell transplants were just getting started. It was nice to read a "happily after book" for a change.
